CIRから生徒諸君へのメッセージ
Hello to all our students. And a special welcome to our new G1 students.
My name is Calvin Ogata and I am the Head CIR at the school. CIR stands for Coordinator for International Relations. Actually, there are another 6 more CIR native English-speaking teachers at the school. And we are a real global group of teachers as we represent various English-speaking countries. Most of our teachers come from America, but we have a teacher from England, New Zealand and even Ukraine. We have been really looking forward to meeting you in class, but for now we will just have to wait a little longer. Our biggest hope is that you will be able to enjoy our lessons and that you learn to build confidence in speaking English. Please don’t ever worry about making a mistake or saying something strange. Speaking out is the best way to learn how to communicate in English. And just think, you actually have 7 Native English teachers looking forward to talking to you every day.
I will tell you a little about what we are doing right now. We are preparing your Active Learning for Global Leaders Curriculum. For the Grade 1 students, we are hoping you will learn good presentation skills so you can speak out confidently in English during the first part of the school year. For Grade 2 students, now that you have learned to speak out confidently, we are hoping you can learn how to form an opinion and back it up with good reasons and examples. This will be great when you start to debate in our classes. As this program is named, Active Learning for Global Leaders, we are hoping that our students will one day become leaders in anything they decide to do in their future.
We hope you and your family will take care during this difficult time that is affecting the entire world. Of course, we are eagerly waiting to see everyone of you in person in the very near future.
